Offline by default — your choice
Everything happens on your iPhone
-
Live transcription
Words appear as people speak — with no speech-recognition prompt, because audio never leaves the phone.
-
Speaker labels
Who said what, colour-coded per speaker; names are inferred from the conversation and can be renamed by hand. Meetings with three or more speakers also get an attendance list.
-
Meeting summaries
Key points and action items, generated on-device with Apple Foundation Models.
-
Playback sync
The word under the playhead is highlighted and scrolled into view as the recording plays.
-
Pause and merge
Pause and resume a take, and merge several takes into one meeting.
-
Dynamic Island
A live recording indicator in the Dynamic Island and on the lock screen.
Private by design
Sotto keeps your recordings on your iPhone by default. Here is what that means in practice.
- Recording, transcription, speaker diarization and summaries run entirely on-device by default.
- Offline-first: it works with the radio off once the models are installed.
- Online processing happens only after you give explicit consent.
- Pseudonymous diagnostics are on by default and can be turned off.
- No ads, no tracking, no analytics SDKs.
Requires an iPhone running iOS 26 or later. Offline summaries require Apple Intelligence (iPhone 15 Pro or later).
